overachiever

I hate it when something ticks off my mom.
Like, just something small that annoys her.
Because suddenly she gets mad at everyone else.
I know it's because of her blood pressure, but it's just difficult to deal with.
For example, she gets annoyed because we have potential buyers looking at the house, right?
Then she sees the clothes I folded and just explodes because I didn't fold them right and because I do half-assed work and I take everything for granted and I should learn because I'm going to be an adult blahblahblahblah
Thing is, I spent a really long time trying to fold the clothes right. I did it carefully, and I handled the clothes even though they're still really hot so that they won't be crumpled.
Apparently, I still did it wrong.
It's hard trying to live up to my parents' expectations.
And every time they say something like, "You take your work for granted," it crushes me.
Degrades me.
Because I know that I tried, but it's still not good enough.
And people wonder why I'm an overachiever.
